Why We Built This (CDMs Helping CDMs)

Four CDMs and one dev. A handful of rejections. One stubborn idea.
TL;DR
We’re a small group of Clinical Data Managers who lived the pain: last‑minute protocol tweaks, mysterious edit checks, and 5 pm eCRF releases. Then we were laid off. While applying, we saw seasoned CDMs get filtered out because a résumé didn’t say CCDM®. We went looking for reliable prep. The GCDMP is essential—but it’s scattered and not designed as a course. So we curated, organized, and wrote the practice we wished we had: concise nuggets, examples, mini‑quizzes, and full mocks. We all sat the CCDM—and passed. If you’re between roles, tell us. We’ll help, free.
Our Story (Long Version)
We’re a small group of friends and coworkers—ambitious Clinical Data Managers who’ve lived the same chaos you have (last‑minute protocol tweaks, mystery edit‑check errors, the whole circus). Then the layoffs hit. Résumés went into black holes. Recruiters kept saying some version of, “Other candidates align more with the role.”
One pattern kept popping up at the big shops—ICON, IQVIA, others: experience alone wasn’t getting us in the door. CCDM® kept showing up as a differentiator. Multiple recruiters told us the same thing: having CCDM helps you get shortlisted because not many people have it. We dug in and realized the exam’s no cakewalk. In a tough market, we needed every honest edge.
There was one problem. We knew about CCDM®, but we’d never needed it to do our jobs—so we’d never prepared. And when we went looking… there was no single, reliable path. Honestly? Nothing we could rely on. GCDMP is solid, but sprawling; materials were scattered across chapters and didn’t cover the practical “how do I actually do this on a live study?” We wanted tight nuggets, worked examples, mini‑quizzes, and key points you could recall under pressure.
We did what CDMs do best: organize the chaos. Four CDMs and a dev (also laid off) rolled up our sleeves. We started curating everything—standards, governance, reconciliation patterns, query lifecycles, archiving and traceability. We rewrote the hard bits in plain language and turned “must‑knows” into checklists. We curated the essentials, wrote questions, and built a simple workflow to create, review, and debate every item. We used LLMs to stress‑test wording and surface edge cases—but we argued over the answers ourselves.
By the time exam week came, we were exhausted and a little terrified. Two of us heard the next day, one a week later, and one of us—because the universe has a sense of humor—waited ten days. We all passed.
That rush was real, but more than relief, we felt something else: we had finally built the resource we wished we’d had. Concise nuggets you can read or listen to after a long site call. Mini‑quizzes that surface what you don’t know yet. Examples that sound like how CDMs actually talk. A path from reading → practice → mastery that respects your time.
If you’re out of work and need help, tell us. We’ve been there. We’ll share the material free. If you’re in a position to support us—great. If not, your honest feedback is just as valuable. We’re still improving and iterating, fixing gaps one by one, the same way we got here.
Offer: Free Access If You’re Between Roles
If you’re unemployed or under‑employed, reach out. We’ll set you up with access at no cost. If you later land a role and want to pay it forward—amazing. If not, your feedback helps us make this better for the next CDM.

Is this official? No. We’re independent CDMs. CCDM®/GCDMP© belong to the Society for Clinical Data Management (SCDM); we align our content to those domains.
Does this guarantee a pass? No. It gives you a structured path, realistic practice, and targeted review.
I’m unemployed—can I access this free? Yes. Contact us and we’ll set you up.
Do you use AI to write questions? We use AI to brainstorm and stress‑test drafts; humans finalize items and rationales.
